i started a new medicine and i think its causing depression
at first i was just really tired, but the more i think about it maybe the more it might be something else, depression

i havent noticed any positive effects from this medicine, besides i have no appetite which is a nice change

im going to contact my case manager tomorow if i can muster up the strength to make a phone call

anyone know anything about strattera causing depression?
i just wanted to treat my ADHD *tendencies*, not open up a can of depression

my pdoc wanted to try strattera first because of my history i guess...
will other ADHD medicines have the same effect on me?

thanks

Strattera did not cause depression in me, but it might for you. I hope not because it works really good.

The rest of the ADHD/ADD meds are stimulants. I was on Adderall and it made me extremely high. It caused the worse case of mania/psychosis/mixed state I've ever been in.

But I have read about others on here that have no problem taking Adderall or Ritalin, etc. So maybe they will work for you.

I would just recommend starting at the lowest dose and slowly moving up if you choose the stimulant route. See how it affects you before you move on.

I hope that you find the medicine that is right for you. Hang in there!
