I've been in a deep state of depression for close to a month now, and I'm getting angry at everyone and I'm getting this rage feeling inside and it's coursing threw my body. Then it goes away a little but not completely then returns. I'm starting to think that I'm going to snap on someone physically soon. I have a lot of pent up anger from things that happened in my past. They have scarred me very deep. I want nothing to do with people and I no that's an issue. Should I be hospitalized?

I have been going through a similar situation and talked to my Pdoc about it. He told me that it was probably my paroxetine (paxil) conflicting with me lithium that was responsible for most of my rage and being pissed at the world feeling while being in my depression and quickly started to taper me off of it. Has your cocktail been switched around recently?

I would discuss your rage with your Pdoc asap, and if you feel like you will do something drastic, I would say do what you feel you need to do to keep yourself safe.

I get very irritable during some some mania. I am just coming out of a mixed depression/mania. I was very on edge and volatile the whole time. Extremely irritable.

In my personal opinion you need to call your pdoc ASAP and tell them this is an emergency, for the mere fact that you stated you are going to snap on someone physically soon. If you can't get ahold of your pdoc then yes go to the hospital if you really feel that you do not have any control over your rage.

This happens to me when I go manic, like I look back at all the unfortunate circumstances life has thrown at me and I start just isolating myself from people because I get so angry at why other people have chances that I don't get, and basically say F*** the world I can take on anything, I don't need any of you. Hoping for the best with you.

Hey man, I hear you. I went through this for years, especially on the end of an up period. It scared me too as well as others around me. As quickly as I got angry, it went away and I felt awful about it. Then week or so later, I'd do the same thing again. I have all sorts of triggers. I could not control myself no matter how hard I tried. I tried for years to do it on my own.

I went to see a psychiatrist at the beginning of this year and told him I was pissed at everyone, stranger or not. I think that was a red flag for him.

I have a lot of other issues that need to address with my mixed state but the rage and anger seems to have evened out. Talk to a professional about it - I take Depakote. Pax.

I agree with the others you really need to tell your Pdoc.

If you feel that you might snap at someone, then it would probably be wise to contact your pdoc asap to discuss your options.
