For months now I've been having 1-3 day depressions about every 2 weeks. They come out of nowhere and are very severe - I cancel all social plans, skip school/work, isolate completely, cry all day, and think about nothing but death. Each time I feel I've been hit by a bus...and then, out of nowhere again, gone.

It's hard to believe that this could actually be bipolar because it's so short. But it's very constant and feels the same every time. What else could it be?? It's ruining my friendships, straining my marriage, and completing disrupting my work.

It could be rapid cycling but only a professional could tell you for sure. Since it is causing you such distress I would seek professional help, that way you would know for sure what you are dealing with.

This sounds like me a few months ago. If you haven't already done so, see a doctor for some guidance. I had no visibility into my condition until a doctor told me I was bipolar. I almost fell on the floor! Good luck.

i've already been diagnosed bp 2 many times. I currently have no health insurance and no income (but it's complicated because i'm married to someone who does have coverage in another state)...i guess I was wondering if this might be cause by something other than bp since the switching is so sudden. I've also been going off zoloft very slowly, maybe that has something to do with it (?)

thanks for your replies sometimes I just feel the need to tell someone what's going on, as I don't really have anyone to talk to here.

hey ~

I'm going to place my bet on " Mixed".. It can be hell on earth. Couple years ago my Pdoc and I agree to try Doxipin long story short it slung me into a mixed state from hell that took me nearly 6 weeks to claw back out of.

I would advise you to get in touch with your Pdoc sooner rather than later and work on finding some stable ground asap.

Until then keeping flinging every coping skill you have at it until something sticks and helps..

Feel better PM me anytime
