I was just wondering if anyone else thinks of fictional characters as if they are real? For instance I just watched Divergent and Insurgent two days ago and ever since I find myself thinking of the characters and wondering what they are going out what will happen next as if they are real people. It also seems as though I'm a part of it as well. This happens with several movies, tv shows and books.

When i used to read i would wonder what happened to the characters after the book. My x used to be so irritable about it. "They're not real," he would snap. But they were real to me. I mean, i knew it was fiction but i still cared about them as if they were real.

Now i don't read anymore but i watch TV and movies. I loved "Breaking Bad" and always wondered what happened to Jesse. I almost got a tattoo like his. I really cared for him -- Walt, too.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It just means we are sensitive and have good imaginations.

I do it with computer games.... And it often continues in my dreams or sometimes (when I used to get them) become part of my hallucinations, weirdly enough.

Yes. As a writer, my characters are very real to me.

I thought I was the only one. I care for the characters as will, like I form real life attachments to fictional characters.
