I've been on Lamictal since 2003, 1 (100mg) in AM and one (100mg) at night.
Never had any side effects and never experience daytime drowsiness which is great.
Today my pdoc said to try taking them at night, instead of the AM, to see if my usual daytime fatigue lessens.
I have health issues that are most likely the cause behind the daytime fatigue, but it's possible that I've come to a point that it can be a teeny part of it, now that I have been stabilized without any episodes, I feel a little of a drowsy effect which in the past I had not experienced in the past.
I was just wondering if any Lamictal users here, have been directed to try taking the med in the evening?
And if you have been switched to PM dosing from AM, have you noticed any less drowsiness during the day?
Thanks in advance. Anyone take their full dose of Lamictal in PM?
All in all I find it to be an excellent med for those mildly bipolar, my DX is Bipolar-II(mild) and ADD(mild)

Just starting on Lamictal - so don't have any experience with your question.

If you are concerned that moving the dosage will have an unstable affect - maybe you can call your doc and let him know the concern...

Wow I can finally give someone else advice how cool is that?

I take my Lamictal at night. I did try to take it in the am and had daytime fatigue at 50mg so I went back to night time dosing.

I have trouble getting to sleep sometimes but have Lunesta to help with that. Pdoc doesnt seem to think it is the Lamictal causing that in fact it is getting better the higher dose I am on, the thoughts will stop racing through my brain.

Hope this helps

I take 200mg of Lamictal at night. I was titrated faster than usual due to a trip to the hospital. my doctor started giving it to me at night and he kept me all through titration at night to get rid of the morning dose drowsiness. It works well for me and I am good on 200mg. Hope this helps. Anyone take their full dose of Lamictal in PM?

He's the one that told me to give this new schedule a try, and that was today, I was only asking if anyone here takes their full dose in the evening.
I'm going to give it a try as my pdoc suggested, I was just curious if others do this sort of schedule.
Thanks for your reply.

undertheradar, and whoknowswhatsnext thanks for your reply, I find it most useful, cause it's coming from someone who has experienced nightime, full dosing, vs am and then pm.
Thanks,
DE

DE, when I was on Lamictal, I took the full dose at night. Never had any problems with that.

Thanks, candybear,
It may help, and the more I think of it,at the time I started Lamictal, my head and life were in a different place and I may have never experienced the "possible side effect" that "some, not all" may experience . . . till now.
Heck, I'm so tired of being tired, and waiting for my new doses of thryoid meds start kicking in. I just read my blood pressure med, which I'm on a very low, begining dose, can cause drowsiness too. Now the Concerta, suppose to be a stimulant, hasn't done anything as far as "stimulating", I can even fall asleep while using it. Anyone take their full dose of Lamictal in PM?
Well, I'll see how this change works out, I'm so desperate for some relief from this prison of fatigue I'm in. Anyone take their full dose of Lamictal in PM?
Thanks again,
DE

I never felt it made me tired, I like that one doesn't get all zonked, I'm able to function, and I can't even tell I'm on anything, no side effects, I like Lamictal, obviously. Anyone take their full dose of Lamictal in PM?
But now I'm gonna see if I feel less tired during the day with this new PM regimen, I'm willing to try anything that works. Anyone take their full dose of Lamictal in PM? If no change then I'll know, for me it doesn't matter what time of day I use it, but I'll be able to get closer to zeroing in on what of my other meds may be behind this, like my blood pressure med. but then I look back I've always been tired before the meds mentioned.
Wish me luck, everyone, as I always wish y'all luck with this and our meds.
Thanks so much
