Hi, I'm new to the board, wanted to say "hi!" Just lowered by Effexor XR dose to 112.5 mg after being on 150 mg for 3 years. I've only been on this dose for a few days however I don't feel as "foggy" as I used to. How do others feel after lowering their anti-depressant doses? It's a scary as I have "relied" on it for so long, more for anxiety.

IMO if it's done slowly, weaned off, you do fine. Three years sounds like a good period of time for taking it... are you in psychotherapy too?

Thank you...glad to be here Lowered Dose of Med Yes, in therapy for about a year and a half. Seems like the therapy has helped more than the med, however needed the med initially to bring me up from a slump to a state where I can function day-to-day.

I'm glad you're also getting therapy for it. Most people make the mistake of just being on meds for their whole life, but that doesn't change the factor's behind the depression.

Personally, I'm not on anything for my depression, I'm just getting counseling to confront things from my past. It still hurts, though.
