I have been slowly coming off of Seroquel with the assistance of my pdoc. The first week I went from 400 to 300 and was miserable. I stayed on 300 for a month and then told my pdoc I would like to go down 50 mg at a time every two weeks. It doesn't even matter my digestive track is a mess. I'm currently at 200 mg. I've been on probiotics forever. I'm also on fish oil, I don't know if that helps, I thought I would mention it though. Has anyone gone thru this that came off of Seroquel, and did anything help cause I have a ways to go and this is not fun.

I have found that gastrointestinal distress often coincides with withdrawal from psychotropics. I did not find a way to cope with it other than to alter my diet so as to insure I could get all the nutrients I needed.

I went cold turkey off my very first med which was Seroquel and all the ones after and when I saw my Pdoc he was very surprised I didn't have any problems regardless if I was on them a short or long term. I will say that coming off Lithium was pure hell, yeah that IS odd.
And as LastQuestion mentioned it can be due to the withdrawl of chemicals. Can you try the BRAT diet ? Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast. Maybe following that for a few days or a week could help everything settle down a bit. Has your Pdoc offered to put you on a stomach med like protonix or the like to help you manage? if not, ask... I'm sorry your dealing with all this mess, I hope your feeling better really soon ![]()
