I'm so annoyed lately as I've had racing thoughts off and on for days. It happens when I'm ready to go to bed but also throughout the day. I'm trying the grounding/mindfulness me and T talked about and it's so frustrating (he said it would be!)

It's annoying the hell out of me and my new med makes so tired that this doesn't help. I'm exhausted. Pdoc said if I feel over medicated I can stop taking the zyprexa but I don't know where to draw that line. It's mostly in sleepy too much after getting 8-10 hours on good nights.

When do I draw the line and quit zyprexa? I've been on new med 2 1/2 weeks now. And I've been grumpy last couple days with racing thoughts. Irritable at least. I'm trying not to be but I lose my temper fast. I don't put everything that happens as a bipolar thing. Could it be though?

Yes I was but he wanted me to stay on zyprexa til I see him in a month unless I was way too medicated with the zyprexa and Latuda. I'm currently taking 10mg zyprexa and up to 60mg Latuda. I'm feeling a lot more stable than I have for a long while'

Hopefully it will all work out for you. I'm currently trying to find what works for me so I know the frustration of over medicated and changing things up. I personal tend to give things 3 weeks if I don't like something about it I ask for a change. Sooner if I get unbearable side effects. I hate the sleepy all day feeling. Its so draining and it makes me grumpy also. Sorry to hear about all this hopefully your next appointment will help out.

Talk to your doctor. Sometimes to control this we have to deal with side effects. Sounds like yours are interfering with you life. You shouldn't have to deal with that. I would ask for a change for sure. Have you tried ability? Its supposed to be more simulating. Hang in there the right cocktail is out there.

Thanks. I'm allergic to abilify actually-throat and tongue swell up! I'm optimistic, just wiped out tired. I'm gonna wait and see how the next couple days are before I call or change. Maybe it will stop. Pdoc is only there on Thursdays so I will see by then if it's all still happening.

Keep it up with the grounding and mindfulness techniques. The more practice eventually you should be able to use these techniques whenever it happens.

Can you replace the thoughts with a poem or story? Can you do a mindful activity?

Zyprexa will zonk you out if the distress is not that high. Personal choice if you take it or not.
Thanks for this!
