well, i've been taking zyprexa and seroquel combination for a while now... my question is how do you tell when it stops? and how do you tell which medication stopped or is it safe to say both will stop working at the same time?

i've been feeling off for a good few weeks now...

thanks

gosh.......i would have no idea how you would know that because you cant even gaurentee that it is the combo of the two that is working or just one of them all along. i would get an appt with pdoc to discuss the matter.

If I'm considering a med change, I go right in to the pdoc. I do not wait. I will call and page him and get seen. This has been very effective for me.

Good luck,

i go to a community services clinic, so they are booked to the rim and time between pdoc appointments is like 20weeks...
i see my case manager maybe 2 times a month and will talk to her about this friday the 15th

im thinking ALOT about coming of zyprexa, for multiple reasons
would increasing my seroquel when stopping the zyprexa help with reducing withdrawals?

im also trying to treat my ADHD with a stimulant, my doc hasnt agreed to let me try a stimulant yet... how can i convince him that im stable and trying to tweak my meds for the symptoms that i have today, not last year?

i feel like something like adderall would pull me out of these numb states, help with residual depression, increase my focus and concentration, help me stop sleeping all day and night, things like this.. im hoping he will let my try something different since i tried strattera and that caused negative effects

i guess this is my rant for today, what to do when medication stops working?

I don't know how you'd be able to tell which isn't working anymore, but wish you the best!

I don't see how you could tell which med isn't working , your on 2 heavy hitters... Both has the ability to bring you down, possible too low, depending on dosage and how your body metabolizes the medications, I guess.

Certainly talk to your case manager, maybe she can get a hold of your Pdoc and get you in sooner.

Until then, Try to make sure your enforcing your daily self care, sleep hygiene, exercise, healthy eating, etc.. All of the self care you can do is going to help your overall mental health not just physical health.

Hope you get some help sooner than July , that's just too far away.
