This has been going on for a while for me. I'm VERY depressed in the morning. Not just like a little down, suicidal depressed. Then, after a while, I feel ok. Usually. Yesterday was a different story. I was very bad until I had a nap around 130. Usually it passes way before then.
I don't know what's going on. I take meds in the morning, lunch, and evening. I take my meds around 5 so they have plenty of time to kick in before I start my day.

Anyone else? How do you cope? Why is this happening?

This is a really important issue for me during my depressed phases. Typically, I tend to feel terrible until around 3pm, and then things start to feel a bit more normal. I'm definitely going to follow this thread, as I need some help with this too...

Only advices I can give you: First, tell your pdoc immediately. I usually go reclusive and don't speak to anyone. My pdoc encourages me to do this, saying they will be able help much better if I visit/telephone during the periods of crisis so they can see first hand what's going on. Second, don't hide from friends and family. Socializing and physical movement tends to help to re-invigorate the psychological state and break the depressive state. You may feel better if you arrange for coffee with a friend every morning so that you have some reason to leave the house. Thirdly and most basically, don't give into the morning thoughts, try to remain calm and take it one day at a time. It usually passes soon enough, and then you'll be fully functional again.

It's different for everyone, but sometimes it's not a medication or psychological issue at all. I've had this and it's so bad, it's scary. A hormone test showed a low melatonin and cortisol levels at that time of day, so it started to all make sense. Supplements helped.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. I feel more depressed in the daytime than at night. I don't know why because I am more active during the day but I really just want to hole up in a dark room. I hate the sunlight more than anything. Nighttime is the only time I can feel calm.

I get depressed before bed. I usually take my pills at night. Sometimes I switch to morning. My psychiatrist recommended it. So i have the greatest concentration of meds during the day.

Can you try this?
