My pdoc says the reason he wants me on 800 MG of Lamictal is because I seem to be highly hyposensitive to medication. He also said he is going to keep me on 600 MG of Lamictal and increase it after he does the genetic testing to be certain everything is metabolizing correctly (or something of that nature...I hope that makes sense).

Also, since I am sleeping sometimes 16 to 17 hours night/day again, he increased the Vyvanse from 35 MG to 70 MG and promsed me that he WILL be able to keep me out of bed to care for my kiddos every day even if it means mixing with Adderall for a bit.

Did he say anything about the zoloft you're taking? (You are on zoloft too, yes?)

I'm glad your doing the genetic testing done. I think that will really help you find the right treatments for you.

How much is genetic testing? I'd love to have that done.

For me, it will be free. He said it is related to your insurance in his office.

I'm sure if I had it done it wouldn't be free. Lol. My insurance kind of sucks. It's good that yours is though.

Yes, I do take Zoloft also and we didn't discuss it. Mostly we focused on the Lamictal because I had sent him an email about me feeling like I was taking too many medications on too high of doses. He promised that he was doing all he could to get me on the lowest amount of meds in the timeframe alloted by my illness (basically). He told me that the Vyvanse also has antidepressant properties.

Its roughly 700.00+

My Pdoc and I have talked about it , but since I am med free and don't plan to take anything daily we see no reason to do it at this point.

I wonder if insurance covers it (or some of it at least). I suppose I could call and ask.

Honestly, I feel good about it; espescially the testing. It makes me feel poorly for doubting him in the first place.

Eh, I doubt my pdoc sometimes (like right now) and it's for no good reason, like I decide she hates me and doesn't believe me and is prescribing me drugs to shut me up despite having 12 years of knowing she would never do that and if she thought I was faking she'd sit me down and say so. Just because she was a little off I have decided all these negative things and questioned her on stupid stuff, including could she please tell me it's ok and she believes me, which she never actually saw. I still think you have very good reason to doubt yours; your meds are WEIRD and that's coming from me, with massively weird meds.

Besides, they are human and if you didn't question you could wind up with some scary things going on.

I'm glad you're feeling good about the med changes. I reckon it will serve you well in the long run.
