After my last tdoc visit, she said she is taking me off wellbutrin. She said it would help decrease anxiety. I'm still on Brintellix which has been pumped up to 20 mg everyday. Anyone been taken off wellbutrin?

Wellbutrin alone put me on a 2 year rocket ride. I'm now on prozac with a stabilizer.

Boogie, I've never been on wellbutrin, but I just wanted to say good luck with the med adjustment and here's hoping that your anxiety begins to disappear real soon
Thanks for this!

Only been off for about 5 days, not sure if it is related, but I have been having some pretty wild dreams.

I still take Wellbutrin but have stopped cold turkey many times, no side effects. It does add to my anxiety as well but I have other meds to counter that. Good luck!

I take Wellbutrin and Buspar. Really to make my doctor happy. Neither seem to have side effects, unlike many other meds I've tried.

Wellbutrin was horrible for me. I could only stand it for just over 2 weeks. Usually Im good at sticking to meds, but this one did NOT feel right and by the end of the first 2 weeks I was actively suicidal. I am still trying to get out of it having been off it a little while now. No withdrawls from such a short time on it but its mucked me up.

It is strange and interesting how meds effect us all differently!

Took Wellbutrin over 10 years, holdover from when I was diagnosed only with depression. Stopped it about two months ago because while I long knew It wasn't treating my depression , in recent months anxiety is more prominent and Wellbutrin may have been doing more harm than anything. I thought i might notice some difference after d/c since I took it so long but nothing, not any more sleepy or depressed than usual. I was thankful to trim down my med list by one.

I still take Rememon for an AD, I don't think it's effective for my depression but taken it almost 10 years now and It may be helpful in other ways, maybe anxiety. Mostly I just stay on it because it's cheap doesn't cause noticeable side effects, and doesn't seem to cause
harm. If someone with BD is looking for an AD Remeron is unique and probably had less risk for mania. For major depression its probably more effective than an SSRI/NRI but can cause drowsiness when started so not that popular. For bipolar depression I haven't seen evidence that it works but being least likely to cause harm is a plus if you must add an AD.
