I am a "writer" by nature; but, I find it very difficult to write in a journal every day.

Do you journal daily? Why or why not?

If so, what it is its greatest benefit to you?

I started journalling daily after my last hospitalization. My therapist thought that it was very important to track my moods. It's been almost a year and it is beginning to pay off in seeing my cycles. And the need to either raise or lower medications depending on the cycles.

I found once I got used to it, it was easy to keep up with. Now I'm hoping to benefit from all my work.

I find writing very therapeutic.

Sometimes I would write ideas and twisted theories,
At times I would try to describe my day/experience, reliving it as I write, I find it's quite magical, joyful and painful at times.

I started a mood journal a little over a year ago but didn't keep up with it. I still write in it occasionally but rarely. I kind of gave up once I started to stabilize. Maybe I should dig it out and start doing it again.

I have a mood chart that I do. What's a mood journal like? I might be interested in doing more journaling rather than check marks and gauging my mood.

I try to every day but sometimes miss a day. I use Penzu so I can do it on my computer, iPad, or iPhone ! Makes it more simple and I won't misplace it. Although there's nothing like writing with good ol pen and paper :-)

In mine I would just write down details of how I was feeling, strong emotions or energy imbalances or whatever. Sort of like a mood chart but in much more detail. Could be a simple paragraph or even multiple pages. It's sort of just a way of keeping tabs on the details of your moods as opposed to just the general state of your moods. I think it could be beneficial to do both a chart and a journal. Maybe keep them together so you can mark the general state of your mood on the chart and put the details in your journal.

I only journal when I'm depressed. Sigh. Don't know why. Just the way it is with me.

Do you journal?

IF I journal, that is when I do it too....and it's so dark and negative....sometimes it helps to get it "out" other times it makes it to real *sigh*

I just have a hard time figuring out what I am feeling --- which most of the time seems to be nothing.....so when I sit to write, my mind just goes blank....don't know how to interpret my own day

I journal, sometimes I go weeks without and sometimes I do it a few times a week. I tend to write more when more things are going on in my life.
