I was just prescribed both of these with the possibility of adding an AD as time goes on. What are your experiences with Trileptal and/or Invega?

I love trileptal! Made me a bit tired at first but it goes away quickly.

Good luck!

Invega was weight neutral for me , I did have an abundance of extra saliva... that was pretty annoying lol.. But it seemed to help me at that time

I take the generic form of trileptal because I couldn't handle the side effects from Depakote. I lost about 30 lbs in 2 months prior to starting trileptal- I did gain weight but I think that was due to the rapid weight loss that I experienced beforehand. It doesn't control hypomania quite as well as Depakote but the side effects aren't as bad either.

Trileptal kicked my butt. I wound up knocking the dose down to 1/32nd of a pill and my pdoc said that was ridiculous and changed my med. (surprise....) Any more than 1/32nd and I was out for a couple of days.

I do not have the impression this is common.

Tileptal worked well for me. So well I quit taking it and spun into a manic episode a few months later. Then it didn't work anymore. So don't just quit taking it if it works...

I've been on Invega sustenna (the shot) for about a year. It works really well with controlling mania and agitation. Not so much with depression but that's why I have Wellbutrin. I have no side effects from it. It burns like hell going in and my arm is sore for a couple of days afterward but it's a small price to pay for stability.
