Sounds like a pretty nice place--- they let you have phones!! Are there groups and such to keep you occupied?

Ooooo so nice to know you can sometimes have phones at these places. And glad you'll have yours so you don't have to leave us.

Thinking about you lots.

Hope things get better in there. I have never been to one that allows phones or electronics!
They keep all our stuff in lockers and we have to ask for it. Your place sounds great.

Take care of yourself and get what you need to feel better.

I'm not as hyper as I was earlier. But I'm super happy and had dark thoughts again. Maybe a mixed episode?

I had a terrible in patient expirience. So the only time I would go IP is under a legal order.

Trust me.... under a legal order is worse...

I am just shocked that HallieBeth can have electronics. At all the places I have been IP at, I had to turn everything over to the nurses.. Even hairspray I had to turn over.
If you wanted something like hairspray, you had to ask the nurse to get it and they would give you a time limit to bring it back.

But heck... I did get socks with those rubber treads on the bottom....

Not to try and deviate from the original topic, but how would being required to go under a TDO change the overall expirience? Just out if curiosity.

I also agree that it's cool you have access to your cell phone. I was required to lock everything away and was given no access.

It's a crisis stabilization unit. Not a hospital. A lot less strict. We can talk walks one to the store after three days too.

Here it's called an MIW which I have gotten and it doesn't change things much except you have to deal with a**hole police officers who have no experience dealing with someone with mental illness and are ignorant about it and treat you like a criminal, being brought in involuntarily also could cause you to stay longer, it's just generally better to cooperate when someone wants to hospitalize you.
