Hi. So obviously I'm new here. I've dealt with depression most of my life and had learned to cope without meds but recently the diagnosis had been changed to bipolar. I'm still new at trying to cope with a lot of changes. Mostly, I just feel like no one understands what's going on with me. I have one really good friend who is also bipolar who does understand me but I feel like I cling to him too often for advice and support. I don't think he feels that way but I do. Anyway, I'm hoping to find others who understand what I'm dealing with and share their experiences.

You will find many who will understand here on PC. Being bipolar takes a little getting used, but it can be managed. I hope being here will give you more support, so you don't have to cling to your friend, even though, I'm sure he is glad to help.

And remember that bipolar is just a label. You are the same person you were before they gave you that label. Take care.

Hello… I'm new here too, since May… Sometimes I feel like others don't understand what's going on with me, but more often I feel like I don't fully understand what's going on with myself. So maybe I relate. I hope you find your way and good luck.

I feel ya. I don't feel like people know what it's like. It's horrible. On most things, we have no control over and people say we were willing...I swear it's just like addiction...everyone thinks we have a choice when it's an illness.

Yes. And it's difficult to realize which phase you are in until people start recognizing that something isn't right. We have to stop ourselves in our own tracks to say...hey, this isn't rational. I gotta slow down and realize I'm hitting a phase.

We totally understand you here and this is a great way to hear experiences from others and some common challenges based on symptoms that we sometimes go through from time to time.

Great to have you around!

You came to the right place. This whole site has so many people who are going through the same and different things. We all try to help and support each other as much as we can. We seek advice and answers. Sometimes we just need to vent. Feel free to do any or all of the above
