So I might be going against medical advice, but I can't stand the side effects of Abilify anymore! Constantly pacing, panic attacks, high strung, gagging, not eating, so on and so forth.
Does anybody know how to successfully and efficiently taper off from this drug? I heard that you can go down slowly from 5mg (which I'm currently on) and take it every other day. For example: Monday you take 5mg, Wednesday you take 2.5mg, Friday you take 5mg, Sunday you take 2.5mg, and so on. EDIT: I should add that I see a nurse practitioner on Monday, and I will be discussing this with her as well. |

I weaned myself off abilify recently (Without doctors approval) because I couldn't tolerate the side effects either.
With that said, it's always best to get medical advise in matters like these. I hope your taper is successful and you start feeling better. Best of luck. |

If your having terrible side effects then tell the NP and try a different med. Sounds like your dealing with akathesia and the medication Cogentin can help with that. In the past when I felt all that I would take a super hot shower , Sometimes it help.
Hope your feeling better soon
