I am new here and started Seroquel 200mg last night. I also take Brintellix. I was looking for info on Seroquel and found Psych Central. I hope this works because in the past I have tried many different drugs that did not help and some made me worse. I hope I will check in here often and maybe help others.

Welcome to Psych Central (PC). Glad you are part of our community. Glad to see you are trying therapies to help stabilize yourself. Tell your psychiatrist if the meds are not doing what they should be and they may adjust them.

I find Psych Central helps me find answers where before there were only questions. There is so much here. It is like a buffet of help, everyone picks what they like the best.

Besides being an active participant in helping oneself at Psych Cental, many people also help support each other by replying to other people's posts. Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems are more manageable the more they help others.

Many people here at PC find they can share these feelings and what they are going through with the confidence that people go through similar things and can empathize. So many forums are offered as well as Chatrooms (after you have 5 posts or comments on others posts). Depression chat meets on Thursday night at 9pm EST and Anxiety Wednesday at 8PM.

You can also be an active member in other ways like supporting others in their questions, reading articles and posts http://forums.psychcentral.com that are applicable to your area of concern.

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

"Slurroquel" is the only med I take that I can really notice dosage changes. It is wonderful for anxiety and mania for me. Be careful as there was a dwi in WA that was caused by seroquel.

Hi greyshroom,

Great to see you on this forum!

Seroquel is great for me for my sleep issues and helps maintain some degree of sanity for me when I'm manic it can help pull me out of episodes.

It's all dose dependent for me but it does help somewhat with the paranoia.

Here's holding thumbs that seroquel works for you too!

Hello greyshroom, I am also new here and have tried Seroquel, but not Brintellix. In my opinion, seroquel just slowed me down and made me feel drowsy/sleepy all the time. I don't even know how I managed to pass high school when I was on it. Although it may help you sleep and help with mania, I feel that all it really does is leave you emotionless and non-energetic. I found Abilify and lithium to help me more than Seroquel did.

Hi! Right now, I'm tapering off Seroquel and Cymbalta and titrating on Lamictal. Seroquel puts me to sleep and makes me too groggy throughout the day. That's the only side effect for me. I didn't gain weight or have those horrible cravings, but I was just too groggy to be productive. The Cymbalta keeps me awake so I hope that when I'm just on Lamictal, things even out.
