I can't quit crying. I finally trusted someone enough to talk about anything and he's leaving. I'm happy for him but mourning his leaving. I feel like just quitting therapy altogether!

I am so sorry to hear that. I would be devastated if my T left as we have such a great relationship that is very productive fir me.

I think it helps to tell people how important they were in your life. I found just saying this alone makes it easier to part company. I did this with several of the staff of a group home where I lived for a year and instead of crying I left with a smile knowing that they knew their work does make a difference.

I just started with "I need to tell you how important you have been in my life..." and followed with a good chat with each person involved.
Thanks for this!

I am so sorry to hear he is leaving. I have been seeing my T for years and could not imagine not seeing him anymore.

Hopefully since the new one is someone the old one recommended (?) she will work out, I really hope it ail turns out ok.
