Mind.In.A.Box - "Stalkers"

It reminds me of paranoid psychosis, and how a person can eventually grow almost attached to the entities that haunt them, while being miserable with it at the same time.

Velvet Acid Christ - "Icon"

Reminds me of the psychological damage from growing up with NPD/AsPD parent(s). It reminds me mostly of my mother, actually.

Smashing Pumpkins - "Bullet With Butterfly Wings"

Reminds me of some of my mixed state episodes.

IAMX - "Kingdom Of Welcome Addiction"

Reminds me of the battle with depression.

Telepopmusik - "Breathe"

Listened to this sometimes when I had bad panic attacks. Just breathe, just believe.

If you and I
Had been anything less
Than these tormented souls
We would never have gone so far
To become what we are

If you and I
Had never seen the world
Through the eyes of a child
We would never have wanted to stop time
Sleepers passing by

If you and I
Had been anything less
Than these disenfranchised minds
We would have looked the other way
As we passed each other by

And for the things I know
From the broken all I ask
Is to look beyond this place
Stop staring at the ground
Thinking only what went wrong

I know there are days
Too dark or hard to take
I hope you know
This is just one day you'll have to face
This is not the whole of your life

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of ****
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end

You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

some of the songs i was going to mention (unwell by matchbox 20) and a better son/ daughter have all ready been mentioned

actually when i heard the latter, i baught that album just for that song

some of mine are:

plum- cut. ( a really powerful song about self harm)

agoraphobia- incubus

hollywood undead- bullet

the black eyed peas- anxiety

plum- mannic

skillet- the last night

skillet-monster

catitonia- bulimic beats. (always loved catitonia)

boomtown rats- i don't like mondays

i also recently discovered the musical next to normal, which is a musical following a girl with bipolar (some of those songs are good), i particularly like just another a day- have to say it's how i feel sometimes.

and song of forgetting

i'll probbaly post more in time.

Green day- "Basket Case"
Sometimes I give myself the creeps
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm cracking up
Am I just paranoid?
Or am I just stoned

Harvey Danger- "Flagpole Sitta"
Put me in the hospital for nerves
And then they had to commit me
You told them all I was crazy
They cut off my legs, now I'm an amputee, God damn you

I'm not sick but I'm not well
And I'm so hot 'cause I'm in Hell
I'm not sick but I'm not well
And it's a sin to live so well

Frank Turner- "Recovery"
It's a long road out to recovery from here,
A long way back to the light
A long road out to recovery from here,
A long way to make it right

"They're Coming to take me away! ha! ha!
They're coming to take me away ho! ho!
to the funny farm where people are happy all the time
and I'll be happy to see the nice young men in their clean white coats
and they're coming to take me away! ha! ha!"

some kelly clarkson songs i find myself relating too all the time.

dark side, because of you, people like us.. i find that explains mental health emotions, even though i don't think those songs are actually meant to be about mental health, i find them fitting

i've listened to several other versions of that.

including it being played backwards, the sequel " their coming to get me again, ha- ha", and the song from his wife's perspective " i'm happy they took you away"

Eisbrecher - "Entlassen"

(Translation)

Everything is somehow different
We've always suspected it
We looked into the eyes of the abyss
How often has life warned us?

A long Night is beginning
Our last night, my child

Forsake me!
How long must I beg?
Heartbroken,
It must come to an end
Free me!
We're fighting hopelessly.
Let me go!
Deliver the final blow!
Release me!

Everything is suddenly so gloomy.
We've always known it.
We wander through time like demons.
At the end, just loss remains.

I read Billie Joe Armstrong was having panic attacks when he wrote Basket Case and Brain Stew. Then I read somewhere that he's actually bipolar, but who knows.

I have too many to list so I will stick to my current two favorites. Here are the lyrics and links;

My Skin - Natalie Merchant

Take a look at my body
Look at my hands
There's so much here
That I don't understand

Your face saving promises
Whispered like prayers
I don't need them

I've been treated so wrong
I've been treated so long
As if I'm becoming untouchable

Contempt loves the silence
It thrives in the dark
With fine winding tendrils
That strangle the heart

They say that promises
Sweeten the blow
But I don't need them
No, I don't need them

I've been treated so wrong
I've been treated so long
As if I'm becoming untouchable

I'm a slow dying flower
Frost killing hour
The sweet turning sour
And untouchable

Oh, I need
The darkness
The sweetness
The sadness
The weakness
Oh, I need this

I need
A lullaby
A kiss goodnight
Angel sweet
Love of my life
Oh, I need this

I'm a slow dying flower
Frost killing hour
The sweet turning sour
And untouchable

Do you remember the way
That you touched me before
All the trembling sweetness
I loved and adored?

Your face saving promises
Whispered like prayers
I don't need them
No, I don't need them

I need
The darkness
The sweetness
The sadness
The weakness
I need this

I need
A lullaby
A kiss goodnight
The angel sweet
Love of my life
Oh, I need this

Well, is it dark enough?
Can you see me?
Do you want me?
Can you reach me?
Or I'm leaving

You better shut your mouth
Hold your breath
Kiss me now you'll catch your death
Oh, I mean it
Oh, I need this.

I See a Darkness - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy

Well you're my friend
(It's what you told me)
And can you see
(What's inside of me)
Many times
We've been out drinking
And many times
We've shared our thoughts
But did you ever, ever notice
The kind of thoughts I got
Well you know I have a love
A love for everyone I know
And you know I have a drive
To live I won't let go
But can you see it's opposition
Comes a-rising up sometimes
That it's dreadful and position
Comes blacking in my mind

And that I see a darkness
And that I see a darkness
And that I see a darkness
And that I see a darkness
And did you know how much I love you
Is a hope that somehow you you
Can save me from this darkness

Well I hope that someday, buddy
We have peace in our lives
Together or apart
Alone or with our wives
That we can stop our whoring
And pull the smiles inside
And light it up forever
And never go to sleep
My best unbeaten brother
This isn't all I see

Oh no I see a darkness
Oh no I see a darkness
Oh no I see a darkness
Oh no I see a darkness
And did you know how much I love you
Is a hope that somehow you you
Can save me from this darkness
