People always look at me crazy when I tell them I don't really have any hobbies. I usually don't have much energy to do anything interesting or anything worth doing. I can't be the only one like this..
Thanks for this!

Ha, nothing interests me enough for me to call it a hobby.

That being said, I have these kicks about random subjects that I do extensive research on and then stop. It makes it so I can talk about almost anything and SEEM like I know what I'm talking about. For example, I had a guinea pig, so I did research on rodent health... I saved a friend's rat's life a week ago

Anyway, I do know what you are talking about. It is hard for me to discuss things like that. I'm a runner, but I don't consider myself good enough to call it a "hobby". I also play bass, but it is the same idea.

I'm interested to hear what other people think.

I have things I like bit not enough to call myself a "dulcimer play." I just say I play around on dulcimer.

I do this also. I can tell you about all kinds of random stuff that I was interested in at one time but no longer really care about. It also comes from changing school programs so many times because I can't figure out what I want to do, have to stop (like yesterday) because I can't function, or can perform the job once I'm done training for it.

I like to read when I can concentrate because I use it kind of like an escape. I also like to crochet because you have to relax your hands to keep the tension correct so it kind of forces me to relax, however I have several unfinished projects because I usually get frustrated or lose interest. I'm trying to actually complete one when I can get myself to work on it.

I like reading. Other than that I don't really have any hobbies.

My mom tried teaching me how to crochet. I did that for maybe two days before I got really frustrated by it. lol

I'm still not very good at it but it is something that I use to try and relax myself and calm my mind. I learned by watching YouTube videos.

I took up cross-stitching a few months back. And, do really enjoy it. I actually sew for a few minutes every morning when I get up....it helps me focus and start the day grounded.

My sister tried to teach me to crochet....and it blew my mind....I will stick to little x's

I read when I can concentrate.

Other than that, I do not have any hobbies.....

Chess. Fishing. Sailing. Sitting around contemplating life.

Those are my hobbies.

I drink a beer every night at 5:00 pm. I don't know if you can call that a hobby or not.

I make very intricate and delicate flowers and trees from wires that are about the thickness of a human hair. My wife dropped my camera onto concrete so I can't include a picture yet).
I also make stone sculptures out of unique small river rocks I search for.

For variety I pick my nose. (yeah I know I have a warped sense of humor).
Thanks for this!

I don't really have hobbies, myself. I have interests, things that I enjoy reading about or watching a video on. I'm mostly a pleasure-seeker. Exfoliate my legs with a salt scrub, aromatherapy with an incense cone, listen to my favorite music, have an orgasm and fall asleep in soft blankets, that is my sort of evening, as opposed to like, arts and crafts or something.

First of all, CopperStar...hilarious! Second, Ripose...love your sense of humor. I think I'm more along the lines of Copper though...I have so many interests (astronomy, weather, psychiatry, history, etc.)
However I have learned a few new hobbies that I'm willing to try now. Thank you all!

No I'm the same way...I don't have a hobby or anything fun to do. I just do the things that I have to...

Gina, I responded to this post this morning but somehow it's not here. I think it was a thread about what makes us happy...

What I had said was that you mentioned in that thread that you like to colour. I think that is a legit hobby. It is art.

They have some amazing adult colouring books with stunning artwork.

And then I was just on facebook and found this:

According To Psychologists, Coloring Is The Best Alternative To Meditation

Most of my hobbies are semi-active, usually alternates between mania and depression :/

Both: Contemplating about life questions and answers, gaming.

Mania: Cooking, a lil bit of flowering.

Depression: Drawing, writing diaries, sleeping.

It's weird lmao

Exactly this. They are fair weather hobbies. I lose interest when depressed.

Short-term imagination hobbies.
Thanks for this!

When I'm up I'm into photography, drawing, writing, dog training, and horseback riding.

When I'm down I don't do any of it. I've been down for a long time lately so haven't done anything in months.

When I'm hypo I get tonnes done, but haven't been at baseline or above much at all in the past two years. Really holding high hopes for ECT and hoping I can get back to creating again.

Currently manic so plenty of hobbies - rock climbing, painting, creating hand crafted chocolates, dancing, sky diving (ok not really a hobby but going for the second time in a week and having ideas about doing the course for solo and eventually becoming an instructor... That's definitely the mania talking though!)

When depressed - none

Stable - not really a hobby person. I love travel, but it's not a hobby per we.

I do enjoy the coloring! But I can't remember the last time I have done it, nor do I color enough to really consider it a hobby..
Thank you for the link!

I color too. I felt silly about it, so I didn't post it before. Lol.

I love coloring, though I can usually only do it for short bursts. I like the calm it gives me.
