I'm never good at expressing myself by talking. I'm thinking about finally being truthful with myself and my doctors. These are the symptoms I'm having lately. I'm going to write a note saying this:

-head is racing
-nothing seems real
-feels like I don't belong in my body
-keep hearing things
-cutting on my leg
-feeling really suicidal

Would we just talk about it? Or would I be sent to a hospital?
I'm scared of that happening because I don't know what to expect.

How you go about the suicidal information would most likely be the reason you do or don't go ip

It depends on your therapist or a doctor. Is the things that you can prevent yourself from committing suicide then you will not be hospitalized. If they think you are truly a danger to yourself meaning you will end your life then yes they will send you to the hospital.

I know how you feel. I was coerced into a hospital stay after being completely honest. I ended up only staying 24 hours though, since the dr. there understood me better. She said I just needed different meds and outpatient therapy.

What I do now though is tell any new dr. what happened and how I fear getting sent again. Just saying that puts my mind at ease and I can open up more.

It does sound like you are under a lot of stress and might need a different medication. I hope you feel better.

Sounds a lot like me during a mixed state episode. I told my pdoc about my frequent suicidal ideation, but also made a point to tell her that I don't think I'm actively suicidal and don't have any specific plans. She did not try to hospitalize me.
