I've heard a lot of people doing those now. They say they kind of zone out!

I loved art therapy when I was IP!! But you don't have to be "good" it's just calming. It's okay to color outside the lines
Thanks for this!

When I was in the hospital a couple of years ago they had us coloring mandelas. I bought a couple of coloring books of those. It can help if I get extremely agitated. The pharmacist would like to see me taking my ativan when I get to upset and has told me to carry a couple of pills with me but I won't. I used to watercolor but for quite awhile have lacked motivation to do anything. I isolate and stay home a lot where my cats help me w the anxiety.
Thanks for this!

Excellent! Lots of fun! I've been learning to draw with pencils for many years now. When I get in the 'zone' it is wonderful!

I see those adult coloring books everywhere now, and this thread is really making me want to try them out.

One of my friends does them and she swears by them.

There is an app called Colorfy that has free coloring you can do on your phone or tablet. It's pretty cool. I like to use it to distract me when my anxiety is pretty bad.
