Hi everyone. I was really active on this forum last fall-- then the depression set in again. This time it's been different than ever before. More like the arctic than the deep dark woods. Anyway I'm back poking around here for the first time this year.

When I was posting before I always tried to be upbeat. Today's not gonna be that way. I haven't left the house in over 2 years except for appointments and grocery shopping. My pdoc moved away in April and they didnt find a replacement until this month. I've been having lots of anxiety lately-- which is a new thing for me-- and that just sucks.

My wife, who also suffers from anxiety and depression, didn't go in to work again today. She's an instructor at the local university. Classes started last week, but she hasn't been in since the first day of class. This morning my anxiety is through the roof, fearing she will lose her job, and then we'll be completely screwed.

Two good things: I have an appointment w/a new pdoc next Tuesday, and I'm making this post. Thanks for reading.

Welcome back. I'm sorry you have been having such a tough time. I hope that your new doctor helps.

Hopefully your wife will be able to get control of her anxiety and get back in the swing of work again.

Welcome back. I'm so sorry that you are having the deep depression with the anxiety. I hate that mix. Miserable. So glad, you are getting in with a new pdoc! Sometimes that helps because they have a new perspective that maybe your old pdoc didn't have. Does your wife have one as well and may be willing to see them to make sure she's ok? Hugs.

Thanks both of you for the replies. Hashi my wife does have one but hasn't seen her in a long while. I guess I'm gonna have to gently push for that.

Sorry you are both having trouble. It is bad enough when one spouse has depression or anxiety or BP but when both are symptomatic, that is really a bad situation. Welcome back to the forum. I hope the new pdoc helps and hope your wife starts feeling better soon.

Glad to have you back! Sorry it has been so tough on you and that your wife is struggling as well. Here's hoping for success with the new pdoc.

Keep fighting the fight......Hugs!

It is bad when both spouses are symptomatic. We're a couple of zombies. She didn't have depression until a few years ago. Now she knows what it's like, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'm trying to rally today, a bit at a time. So far some success, at least. All we can do is keep fighting the fight, eh?
