I have a mental illness where I go into manic/psychosis episodes. During my psychosis, I will have strong religious values and beliefs (I get delusions). I will believe that I have have a purpose for the end of the world, that I play a part in it. I will believe that when I die, the world will no longer exist, I have paranoia of demons and spirits, and belief thst im hsving demon oppressions. I'm not allowed to watch movies with exorcisms/demons because I react to the chantings and possessions, mostly the chanting like I actually act possessed and turn into something else.....

It's severely difficult to distinguish my religion from my mental illness. Psychology and religion are completely separated by God and Science.*

I grew up religious and this is difficult for me. As I have always been this way my entire life.*

How do you think I should proceed, go about, this issue? Or anyone relate?

I can relate to this. I'm only spiritual/religious when I'm going into psychosis. Normal me is an atheist, so its an odd thing to experience. I didn't notice the connection for a long time, I just figured sometimes spirituality makes more sense to me than others, but that wasn't the case. Now that I know it's a symptom of my mania/psychosis starting, I can usually stop it before it gets out of control just by realizing what's happening.

I'm not sure what to tell you in terms of how to deal with how it is for you since you've grown up with religion (and I'm assuming you still believe it) other than try to distinguish when your beliefs become more extreme, such as fearing turning into a monster, being possessed, etc.

Religion was created by man to ease fears and provide a way to face death and explain the unexplainable ... if it is not doing that for you ... then why embrace it ... it is not the answer just a path ...

sorry to sound harsh , don't mean to be mean , but religion (not spirituality) has caused more heartache and pain than just about anything in this world....

You haven't offended me. I believe anything spiritual is vital to live. Give in people "something" to go on, look up to. It could be any religion or just believing there is something higher than them.
