I've been meaning to post this for a long time, but I just kept putting it off...
I am a terrible procrastinator. My middle name is "tomorrow." I am not exactly sure why I am the way that I am. Part of it is indolence, for sure, but the biggest reason I don't get things done is that I don't believe most things are important enough to actually go out and do. If anyone has any comments or advice on this relatively small problem, I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance. WB |

I'm terrible at it too. A lot of it stems from anxiety. Like I would put off my school work because I was scared I wouldn't be able to do it. Same thing now for my work. But some of it is just me being lazy. Like doing chores and stuff, I just don't feel like getting up and doing them.
Sometimes what I do is make myself do what I'm supposed to but give myself a time limit, like twenty minutes, and then I don't feel trapped doing it.

I feel your pain. I have so many responsibilities that it's unreal. I hate myself for it when it doesn't get done or if it's late and I know how to change it, but I keep procrastinating!!!
I get anxiety before a task when I know that I "should" proceed, but I still don't and it makes things worse on me. It's a proven fact that if you can trick your brain into thinking things are due much sooner than what it actually is, that you will get it done quicker...like not knowing the deadline at all you would get to it. Try making a to-do list and marking or off one by one. Maybe even prioritize the importance of each and start with number 1. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G750A using Tapatalk |

UGH, I'm sooooooooo bad about it! I missed court and got a failure to appear. I put off going down to the courthouse to reschedule because I couldn't do it by phone which irritated me. I finally went to court, my fine is double now and my license is suspended for a year

I blame my procrastination on MI. The meds sedates me. Bipolar makes me spin in circles or do nothing. DID makes time jumps and forgetfulness happens. I'm just not going to win. |
