I've been taking Cymbalta for about 2 years for bipolar depression and chronic pain. I was on 120 mg/day for about a year, went down to 90 mg 2 months ago, and then switched cold turkey from Cymbalta to Fetzima 3 days ago. The first 2 days, I took 20 mg and today went up to 40 mg. I don't want to make a call on it's effectiveness yet because all I've gotten so far is a lot of dizziness, diarrhea, and constant brain zaps making me irritable. I haven't had any mania or hypomania in a few years so I'm not worried about that part. I've been in a depressive episode for over a year and just need it resolved somehow. Anyone have experience with it? Any tips on how to make the brain zaps go away?

I've been taking Fetzima for a year now and it has really helped my depression. I'm up to 120mg with no side effects that I'm aware of. But I also take Saphris as a mood stabilizer and find it to be helpful as well.

Interesting, I'm also on Saphris. I've been taking 5 mg for a couple of months, tried 10 mg and it just made me so tired I couldn't stay awake (and I was taking it before I went to bed). I quite like it. I'm glad to say that the brainzaps have mostly gone away, I took my Fetzima about 2 hours ago and feel relatively normal. Woo! Thanks for the reply.
