My stress level is so out the roof I'm about to pop. Stress is a major trigger for me. At times I just feel like curling up in bed and crying my eyes out, but most of the time I just feel like I am going to fly off the handle. I feel like I'm going to explode. My anxiety is out the roof and I am taking my klonopin daily which is highly unusual for me. Any suggestions on how to bring myself down. I am a ticking time bomb. I need help.

I usually knock myself the eff out when I get like that and want to avoid an implosion or explosion.

After a good ole nicely timed coma, I usually wake up feeling more centered, more grounded.

Its like giving my brain a reset.

Sure the stress is still there after I wake up, but at least it usually goes back down to manageable levels.

If it doesn't, well then I know for sure an episode is immanent.

Sorry things are so rough on you these days

please share how you knock yourself out when stressed; i am going thru a major stressful time now and no amount of klonopin or seroquel with other sleep meds put me out and the insomnia and racing thoughts continue. i have excellent sleep hygiene but when stressed, no sleep and then the cycle of mania/insomnia begin. am open to your suggestions/solutions.

I have tried all sleep meds and APs and crap, Sometimes when nothing else works a shot or 3 of NyQuil can knock me down a bit.

As Lia mentioned sometimes the need to avoid a explosion or implosion is a must have and sleep is the best way to get some quick relief.

A good hard run or asss busting Cardio workout can help burn off some of meltdown hell energy.

I always keep a few ugly cheap plates I find at thrift stores for cases in which I seriously need to break shyt, It can be helpful to just smash things once in a while. Cathartic in fact. I buy the ugliest plates on the planet ,, No one needs those hidious Christmas plates from the 80's

Hope you are able to find some relief, I know how bad it sucks

Calmed down some, it's the weekend so I should be able to somewhat slow time and find some time to relax. Thank you for all your comments.

Same here, and I word it the exact same way.

Can vouch for the power physical motion thing too. Physical issues keep me from the option now, but, a memory of such a time of needing to
come down from a through-the-roof state...
I'd just kicked a hole in the wall, felt strongly impelled to run off balcony (second floor, lol) into a pool (which was totally unrealistic!) AND kept wanting to, and seeing myself, wrestling tigers. And winning(!)

Oh. Wait. That was the unrealistic part!

Went on a very determined power walk. It did help. Quite a bit. It was certainly a better option than trying to fly or the tigers!

Clearly missed the pre- loosing it window of opportunity though. You'd probably have even better results to try it then. A (positive) pre-emptive strike!

Hopefully you got a little relaxing chuckle in there...

You're not alone. Let us know how it goes, ok? (Glad it is the weekend for you!)

Getting some quiet time today, nothing bombarding at me to do, other then dinner and I can handle that. Husband is in bed, son off to a friend's house tonight, and I don't have to pick my daughter up for work today. Even though I know it is not going to last, I'm enjoying my leisurely day with no outside stresses.
