I feel like it can't, but I don't know how else to describe this. It's like when I feel super happy for a few hours, giggle at everything, feel like no social anxiety (which is amazing at weird), I will have all these project ideas, talk in a super high voice, annoy people on purpose, I talk really fast, will skip sometimes instead of walking. Yep. It's not manic for sure, but I don't know what else. But this only last a few hours. I haven't noticed any trends with this. Like, it doesn't come a certain time other than once every week or two. My family gets really mad and annoyed at me and say "did you take your meds" (even though that is for anxiety) or "take a chill pill" or something like that but I can't help myself. I feel really, really happy, like I'm the queen of the world happy. Does this happen to anyone else here? I had an episode of this for only an hour last weekend and my family was really annoyed and angry at me. I felt bad after. Anyways, any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Do you have any other mood swings like getting depressed suddenly after? I ask because a lot of times Borderline Personality Disorder can be like that and ultra rapid cycling bipolar is supposedly rare. Anyway, nobody here can diagnose you, it would be best to talk to your doctor

I always get my MDD episodes for months at a time in winter and summer. I somewhat get depressed after, but I consider my mood always depressed probably having pervasive depressive disorder.

Oh okay.

I know that. I might bring it up but since it doesn't last super long, it doesn't really affect me much in that sense. The depression does a lot though so. Thanks for the response Can a hypomanic episode last only a few hours? .

I have been waking up feeling normal and then a couple hours later I'm hypo. This lasts until I take my sleep meds and then I'm normal again. Wierd. I can relate.

I went through a spell for a couple of weeks once were I was normal mood when I woke up. Then, I was hypo by lunch, super anxious by mid-afternoon, and depressed in the evening. Weirdest thing ever.

I get super hyper in little blips now and again. Not sure what it is.

There *is* something called rapid cycling, and it *can* happen. You can be hypomanic or manic for only a few hours at a time. Really. Talk to your pdoc about this; you may need a medication tweak.
