So I've been sleeping for too long now. Haven't spent more than 8 hours awake per day for 3 days now but I'm still so tired. I'm not depressed as such just worn out. I want to hibernate, sleep in a cocoon forever. & I have to get up to go see my psychologist in an hour, I don't want to go. I don't know what to say other than im tired. I think I was hypomanic & now I don't know where I could possibly have gotten the energy or motivation. I hate this. I need a mood stabiliser added to my fluoxetine but alas, you can never get a psychiatrist appointment that u don't have to wait 6-8 weeks for.

Can you call and let them know what is going on? Maybe they can do a med change while you wait for an appt. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm not sure if my GP will start a mood stabiliser without my psychiatrists input & this new psychiatrist hasn't seen me during an "up" at all so im not sure he would commence a new med without a review either so I guess I'll just have to wait. I'm whinging, I should be thankful I'm not curled up in the fetal position in tears.

I don't think my psychiatrist had to see me up, I just told him about my experiences and he started me on lithium. It helped immediately but I didn't get the full effect until I titrated up to a high dose. Hopefully your pdoc won't give you a hard time. Just emphasize the impact the cycling has on your life—sleeping 16 hrs a day, etc.

I went through this the other day. I was getting only two hours of sleep a night and I was completely manic and finally i crashed and just rolled around in bed all day. I woke up and took a shower one day and I shot into a manic state so just be careful. This always happens to me where I might crash and not become depressed but even more manic.

Definitely talk your P DOC.

Have a great week.

It would never hurt to call. Even if you have to talk to your GP about it, maybe s/he can put a call into your pdoc from a medical point of view or have suggestions on what to do. It wouldn't hurt to go ahead and make an appt. Better later then never. Take care of yourself
