I have been having trouble with nausea for like 3-4 weeks. My pcp cant fond anything wrong, so...he thinks it is the latuda. Nausea is listed as a side effect i think one of the first three. My pcp wants me to go off the latuda. However the latuda is probably doing the most good. He jas helped me a ton with suicidality. However, the nausea is unbearable at times. I'm tempted to stay on the latuda and stick it out through the nausea. But what would you do?

Can you see if an antacid would help? If its not contra-indicated. When i started taking my mood stabilizer, topomax, my pdoc told me to also take cimetidine because it gave me a stomach ache.

Have you tried Ginger candies? Ginger is great for helping with nausea.

Personally I'd stop the latuda. I hate nausea, but that's just me.

Peppermint helps me with nausea. You could try that.

If it's helping that much, I'd stay on it and try to find something to counter the nausea. There are lots of otc products, ginger of course, and prescription anti-nausea meds available as well.

I agree, if you feel it is being positive for your health then finding something for the nausea is what you need to do.

I've read that one of the other benifits of light therapy is it combats nausea. Who would have thought.

Yes i am most definitely eating with the latuda but i think its not enough. I also havent been eating enough throughout the day. Ie: i ate a soup and salad for break at work and wasnt nauseas the rest of the day. Then came home and ate roast beef sandwich with the latuda. See how I feel tomorrow morning...

I definitely have to eat as I take my pill (Latuda); I've found although I'm consuming most times over 350 calories there are some foods that still allow the nausea (dairy for sure) I've found some luck eating pretzels with/or soon after.
Definitely love the drug!!

Nothing is in stone...try to stick it out with various attempts to quell the nausea and if it becomes a pain in the *** then you can decide something else.

Have you asked about Zofran?

And I think here is new anti nausea med out there but I don't know what it is called.

If it was me and the Latuda was really helping that is what I would do. Start with the natural stuff...work up to the zofran type stuff and then quit if nothing helped and I couldn't handle the nausea.

How long have you been on it? I've had yuck side effects like nausea when starting meds that have then gone away over time. Just a thought.

Good luck. Nausea sucks but it is great you've found a med that is helping you.
