Well, I think the title says it all... I'm roughly on day 85 of being clean and dry, but today has been a really tough day. Saw a couple old mates I used to drink with, they where talking about a new pub, with; ice cold beer and members of the opposite sex.
Anyway, it is just really hard not to skip tomorrow and the next days dose. (of antabuse)
I religiously take it, because as you clearly can see i need to!
What are the effects of alcohol on meds?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I fear if I have one drink, I'll start going high and lose the plot again. I've got the itch already. actually I really really want a beer

Don't drink. Antabuse stays in your system for 1-2 weeks after stopping, and you will have nausea and vomiting if you drink.

Beer is gross. I had wine last night but I think I'm through with it. Me and liquor equals a bad scene.

I'm thinking of a meeting, but I'm going to go do laps instead.

Don't drink, all that clean time you worked for.....I had 5 years once. Today can and will be the first day of my next bout of sobriety.

Sounds sort of like you are setting yourself up.
knowingly stopping the antabuse to drink?
you need to ask yourself which do you want:
to drink and risk relapse,
or go out have a good time without drinking,
or whether or not you are ready to go in a bar,
and need to find new people to hang with?
there are meetups where you can find non drinking friends with the same interest if AA is not for you.

You got triggered and you have to ride it out. Recovery means choosing sobriety when the urge to drink gets strong in a month or a year.

Alcohol can really mess up your mind, let alone your medications. For me, the urge to drink flat out went away once I was balanced on a good mood stabilizer. Stick to the antabuse. It's a better way.

Wow thank for the quote.
Real eye opener.
Yeah I'm on day 91 now, going to stick it out.
This forum has been a really good helping hand.
Upwards and onwards
