I started Lamictal about a year ago and within a few days I got a rash on my arm and my whole body was itchy....now yesterday I got a small rash on my arm and my body is itchy....is it possible it could be the Lamictal?

It almost certainly is. A rash is a rare-- and dangerous-- side effect of lamictal. Stop taking it and get in touch with your pdoc immediately.

It probably is. I got the really bad rash when I took Lamictal, it wasn't fun at all. I agree with the other poster, contact your psychiatrist immediately, this side effect is VERY dangerous.

Yikes! Your pdoc is badly misinformed.

Usually the rash occurs within the first 8 weeks. It is really rare for it to happen after that time.

The rash is also very rare. Rashes happen while on lamictal and it is good to be cautious but you probably have a rash from something else.

I had Lamictal rash and it feels like a terrible sunburn on top of hives. It's very distinctive.

You definitely should hold the med tonight and call your pdoc but chances are very high you have a rash that is totally unrelated to lamictal.
