So... I've been reading my journal from just before my manic/mixed episode (with psychosis) in January, and I'd totally forgotten that I was sitting in front of my light therapy lamp up to twice a day beforehand. I never made the connection.

Guess I'm going to have to be careful about that this year (as in not sit in front of it!).

Just a little warning I guess for everyone.

Cheers!

Mine is in the closet and it's staying there. Lol. I don't know why it triggered a mania in me. Every year, usually in february, I sit infront of it because I start getting a little worn out from winter. Never had a problem until this year.

Ofcourse, maybe my episode would have happened regardless.

I'm really sensitive to it. I have a light that I can adjust the intensity and timer and even using it at 15% (I think 50% is normal) and for 5-10 minutes instead of the 15 recommended for that type of light I still have gotten manic from it. We usually make a month to month decision about using it. Some years I do and some years I don't touch it. This year I won't be using it at least until Jan-Feb because I'm too unstable.

It is so good when it works though.....

Right. It always really helps me when I get tired from winter (really wakes me up).
