It's pretty much the same description they give in books or online describing bipolar episodes
Periods (if hypomania 4 or more days) of very high mood that causes you to behave different than your norm
Increased energy less sleep irritability can be the main mood state but if that is the case it says u must have even more of the other symptoms to qualifye....racing thoughts ..if it is not a mixed state usually feeling of this great well being flood your system...some ppl become hypersexual or shop like crazy but your mood state is different than if you just were someone prone to shopping lol

You can find alot of info on the Web and personal stories here

Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

While, it's not full blown mania but it is still a heck of a ride - one I really enjoy. I suddenly become interested in things, become elated, and feel a sense of joy. I become more active, not just physically (and hypersexed), but seek out riskier things to do. For me risky behaviour includes spending money. For some risk taking means a turn to /increase in drug or alcohol use. For me my high is pretty extreme outdoor activities - I have very fond memories of climbing mountains, and long distance kayaking. Most people can be described during hypomania as being extremely ougoing and gregarious. I tend to become surrounded by aquaintances during extended periods of hypomania.

During hypomania one just plain feels good all around.

Which is why the plunge into Depression can be so deep.

There are negative sides too though. Spending money comes with it's consequences. Relationships which may have become strained or broken need to be repaired. There may have been negative effects on employment. I tend to become irritable and snappy when I am hypomanic - that is often one of the first signs.
