Yesterday I thought I had crashed into another typical depressive episode. I've had single days of energetic depression during hypomanic episodes before, but this depression was not energetic by any means. Felt like normal, totally mentally and physically draining depression. But today I woke up feeling fine, then good, and now I'm feeling pretty much hypomanic again? I'm so happy and full of energy and ideas. Is it possible that Lithium is doing this? I've only been on it for a week and a half but I read online it can start working earlier or later depending on the person. Although I thought Lithium was supposed to level your mood out so that you are neither depressed nor hypomanic. I don't know very much about it since this is my first time on it, but I'd sure take this over depression anyday!

I often have one to two day swings in the midst of episodes. I will be depressed mostly for three weeks but in there have a day or so of hypomania. Just my natural cycle. But it could also be the lithium bringing you up. Hopefully you won't get too high. Lithium SHOULD cover that but everyone reacts differently.

Is it possible for Lithium to make you actually manic? I've never been manic, only hypomanic, so I don't really know what the warning signs would be. I want to be sure to monitor any changes I feel. I see my pdoc again on the 22nd
