Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand

Hahaha! Last night, I was talking to my SIL about my nervous breakdown (spawned by a convo about the new med) and I mentioned that I hated when I realized God calling me by name was a hallucination. She said, "really, you think it was a hallucination?" She told me once God spoke to her out loud and she remembers it clearly, she said she remembers exactly where she was standing and it gave her chills. I don't mean to lessen her experience but, isn't it more likely that that too was a hallucination rather than the actual voice of God? But, she didn't think so. She was also the second person I told about my 6 hour shower experience and she didn't think it was nuts. She believed that the Lord really was casting demons from me and that it really was the Holy Spirit and a huge miracle. She still doesn't dismiss the idea. And they think I'm crazy.

Every time my cousin(and certain other members of the family) tell me MI doesn't exist, it's all just demons and I need to find god. I think to myself yet I'm the one they want to put in the hospital

Dude, my parents and all their parents and most of my family is hardcore Catholic... so yes. Yes I do often feel like the sanest one in the house. I have experienced both a severe Catholic indoctrination resulting in [temporary] Catholic beliefs and paranoid delusions and I, for the life of me, cannot differentiate between the two... other than the MH pros saying it's totally sane to believe in an invisible man in the sky who magically created the entire universe in 6 days, watches you 24/7 and can read your thoughts but space aliens coming to kidnap me if I fall asleep is crazy. What a world we live in, eh?

I am so sorry. I can relate. I was raised in a hardcore Christian family and only finally broke free from the brainwashing a few years ago, but the severe indoctrination has psychologically damaged me even into my early adulthood, says my pdoc. Lovely!
