Why won't you try patient assistance with an exemption? If insurance will approve an appeal that's great but it's going to be a tier 5 drug and you'll still have hundreds of dollars of co-pay with most/any? Med D plan.
I swear I'm not making it up that it is no problem to get drugs that way ![]()

That's good. I hope she succeeds and that they cover it at a lower tier. I know my insurance covers Seroquel XR but it's at a high tier (and less meds than I take daily) and would be a huge percent of my income if I had to buy it. So I still get it through assistance. But hopefully she'll succeed in getting it covered at a lower tier. My Med D handles appeals so slowly that I've just paid for the med the few times I've needed one b/c the drug is cheap anyway. Appeals should be better now b/c they got in trouble with Medicare. But my pdoc told me that sometimes with an appeal they'll approve it but put the drug in a high tier anyway. I've never tried it though since they covered what I take, just not in a way that was helpful.
I had silverscripts for a year and they were pretty good with things. I accidentally signed up for a different policy than I meant to last year and it has been really good; lots of my generics are free and those that aren't don't cost much at all. Last year I got into the final stage past the donut hole where meds are so much cheaper; this time I doubt I've spent $100. But since my plan got in trouble I'm interested to see if it stays as good as it was. It is definitely more expensive but they all got more expensive this year.
