Hi all,

For the last two years I have been Med and Therapy Compliant. For a majority of 2015 I have been stable. Have not been Manic in some time. For the last few months, however, I have been falling and its been worse for the last two weeks. My question is how can this be happening when I have been med compliant? Can my meds stop working? I am at the point of giving up. My pdoc just gave me mirtazapine , Anyone else with this experience? I feel so alone

Thank you

Bipolar 1- Lamictal 200mg, Abilify 15 mg, Wellbutrin 200mg, Mirtazapine 7.5mg(new).
OCD- Klonopin prn .5mg
Hugs from:

Yes, you can be stable for awhile and then need a med change. Hopefully your depression gets nipped in the bud quickly.

I'm guessing your pdoc just gave you the mirtazapine recently. Give it a little time and if you're still not improving contact your pdoc for a further meds adjustment. Did he suggest anything else that might be added to your regimen?

Thanks all,

No, she did not add anything else. Just got the mirtazapine a week ago today. She did try to put me on Paxil, but it started to make me hypo. I was diagnosised in 2010, and have basically been taking the same meds since then. I did some research and a couple of sites talked about Wellbutrin "poop out"

Yes, your meds can stop helping after a while. It happens quite a bit. It sounds like your pdoc is working with you. I hope you do feel better soon.
