Hi, last year I had bipolar psychosis. During this time I had hallucinations and something more strange happened. It was like these morbid movies started playing in my head. I really haven't been able to articulate my experience. I'm not religious but I thought God was sending me messages. I had about 50 of these movies with themes focusing on religion, politics and exorcism. I'm sorry if I haven't explained it well, just curious if anyone has had anything similar.
Hugs from:

I call these "flashvisions".

Yes, on regular basis. They are often very dark and morbid.

Do you know why they happen? Is it part of psychosis, hallucinations or something else? Also, is there a medical term for them?

I think it is a kind of hallucination. Maybe it could be the psychotic specter, who knows.

Not sure about medical term. I think it would just fall under hallucinations.

YES this happens to me as well. I often get flashes of very detailed and vivid violent images, many times of a freak accident, for instance.
Thanks for this!

I always categorized these as intrusive thoughts although they come as pictures

Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand
Thanks for this!

I have these frequently. I guess they are intrusive thoughts. Hallucinations for me are things I see outside myself, coming from my eyesight that looks like it could be real or at least happening outside of me rather than inside my head.
Thanks for this!

Yes and they are never positive! Dark violent and unwanted!

No matter how small, a positive change deserves to be celebrated!

Yea. I get this a lot. Intrusive thoughts my psyc calls them. And I explained it similar to how you did- like a movie in my head or like "visualising it" sort of. Not nice to experience! X
