I'm not sure about this ****ing lithium. Excuse my language. I shake when I go into the grocery store to get something and then I shake when I'm trying to pay for it. I can't stand this anymore. Do they have to just lower the dose or is there something they can give me to stop the shaking?

Lowering the dose might help. I remember the higher the dose, the worse I shook. It never went away though. Not until I stopped taking it.

Yeah, it is a common side effect. I shook when I was on 600mg and I'm shaking on 1200mg. It's more than likely not going to go away. Sorry!

My pdoc told me that shaking can begin at as low as 600mg, and I can see you're on twice that amount. Otherwise, is the lithium working? I guess it depends on the trade off.

You can take propanolol for the tremors. The dr. almost made me start it when I was early in my diagnosis because they were really bad. I didn't want another med but my assistants couldn't read my writing which was crucial so I accepted it and it did help. Eventually I went off it and my body seemed to have adjusted to the tremors and while I had them I wasn't bothered by them. I still have tremors, apparently from other meds (I'm on a tiny bit of lithium right now but have tremors when I'm not on that and it's not enough to cause anything) and they don't affect much at all, after many years of practice with them.
