I know that bipolar is different for just about everybody. I'm curious, how much time do y'all spend feeling "normal", like time between episodes and such?

I am currently in my third month of good stability after a very tumultuous year and a half.

I'm currently enjoying a fourth month of stability, which I hope to continue. In the past my periods of relative stability would last from a month or two to a year or more.

I'm pretty much the same. I've been stable since about mid August, so 4
Months, but prior to that I was a wreck for a long long time. Haven't felt this well in years. Gotta keep the faith that I have the strength and ability to maintain.

I spend very little time 'normal' as I rapid cycle. This year I have spent about 4 months in total stable and the rest either hypomanic, depressed or mixed. At least I haven't gone full blown manic. Previous years I have had continuous episode after episode but Lithium seemed to stablilise me enough to enjoy 'normal' moods for a change.

I am neither manic nor depressive, but I am not normal either. The meds make sure of that.

I've spent years in a stable state..but it took dedication, a schedule and healthy eating , and a T to stay relatively stable for that time

Other than this year, I think I spend a fair amount of time stable or mildly depressed.

But I'm feeling much better now after getting off of gabapentin, so hoping for stable times ahead! I think I spend a lot of time mildly depressed though.

I've been stable for almost a year. That is different from being "normal", but I'll take it.

I wish I could remember the last time I felt normal. I had a job 5 years ago I hated. I haven't a manic episode since july-september of 2014. But the depression and GA likes to hang around. We'll see how these meds turn out.

I tend to go through about 4 years of instability and then have 2-3 years of stability. That's without meds. Time will tell if that holds true while on meds. It feels like maybe it won't be like that now.

Yeah I feel like I'm kind of like that but like a couple stable years (I mean permitting some depression...nothings perfect!) And then a couple years of mass mayhem

Thinking normal and I get allergic reaction, it's rather in the scope outside of bipolar, rather than to think about what's normal, I just play the cards that I'm dealt with.

Ask the manufacturer, because it's the settings on a dryer!

Perspectives changes everything, what seems to be normal ain't normal any more. New normal, is it still normal?

I think I've been stable for about a month now. Still trying to rein in the depression.
