So when I ended up with my bp dx I had never even been on an antidepressant. My choice of meds growing up was self medicating.
So my first real meds were bipolar meds. Inhatedcthe depression part but had a hard time getting the doc tobtry antidepressant
In the hospital I manipulated the doc to try prozac. That left me utterly unstable hypo and with massive auditory hallucinations. They were pleasant but I was not well. One night at 3am I decided to go kayaking alone and in the dark fundamentally out of it. Thank god my friend stopped me
Recently I began a new place where I convinced them try effexor. At first it seemed to work real well but now I feel it's making me much worse
I once manipulated a newbpsych nurse in the hospital to give me adderall right in the middle of a episode. Once I flew 80 ft more in the air and they had to give me a shot of hadol she didn't listen to me anymore lol.
That doc I was with so long may have had something right lol
It's hard for me not to be in control and I am not sure I trust doctors but I think I may give it a shot
My way is not working

Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand
Thanks for this!

Well, Drs have 12 years of school. So I know some are lame, but most are knowledgeable.
Everything matters in bipolar. Your mood, attitude, what you eat, how much you sleep. If you isolate or are active with others.
I like my current meds. My goal is to avoid hospital and ECT.
I swam again today in ocean for over an hour. Felt great.

It took me a long time to trust that doctors generally know what they are doing. I finally settled into following the doctors orders. It's the best thing I did.

While now I'm in the middle of another med change I have confidence that my doctor will make every effort to make sure I stay safe. So I listen.

I've had the same doc for 17 years on and off. I used to trust him blindly, now I often question him. He makes some strange decisions undoubtedly. I am out on a limb with this clozaril. My only concern is where this paranoia is coming from.

I'm glad you are listening and I hope you find consistent, peaceful rest soon.

Jacky your not the first I'm sure and won't be the last. The important thing is taking that step toward getting the care you need. Hugs

not between your legs ... hold it high ... you have the courage and strength to realize it's not working and you need a change ... I call that a success and I see many more success's coming for you ... new start ... first "good" day of the rest of your new life ...
