I am three months pregnant and have been having hypomanic episodes, serious dreprression, guilt, and suicidal thoughts. My husband and I have been fighting a lot over the past year and now its catching up. I've been off all my meds for 4 years and things were okay for a couple years but now with pregnancy hormones every day is a struggle. This is my third kid too, so I've been through this before. What medications are safe for pregnancy? Previously I was on Zoloft, tegretol, respridal (so?), and ativan. I narrowly avoided involuntary commitment after the cops showed up at my house last Friday when I threatened to kill myself. I need help

Hi! I'm so sorry to hear you are struggling. I would talk to your obstetrician immediately. Do you have a good relationship with them? And are you able to contact your former psychiatrist?
I know here in New York, there is a program for women that are pregnant and taking psych meds. If you are in or near a major city you might be able to find something similar.

I am in Missouri and the nearest city is an hour and a half away. That's where I went before to see a psychiatrist and I need to do that again probably. Though i hated the doctor, he was seriously rude. I see the OB in two weeks, that's the soonest they could get me in. I called a psychologist and left a message with him so hopefully he gets back with me soon.

Can you call your insurance and get a list of psychiatrists, then just call around and see who can see you ASAP? I would tell them that you are pregnant and symptomatic.
If you are near St Louis I am sure that the university affiliated hospital would have a high risk pregnancy clinic.
Also- if you call your OB and tell them it's an emergency they should have to get you in sooner. You need to be really insistent and advocate for yourself. Or ask your partner to advocate for you.
