I just watched the movie tonight! I thought it was wonderful! Mark Ruffalo was awesome! Anyway, I really didn't relate to a lot, but I did to some of his stuff. Thoughts from you guys?

I died laughing when he pulled the cords out of the box! That pretty much sums up my brain and life! I myself am allowed one hoarding room and one hoarding closet. What a mess! I liked the movie but got sidetracked and didn't see the last 20 minutes.

No matter how small, a positive change deserves to be celebrated!

I loved it! It was moving and not cliche. It was a part of him, not the whole of him. It actually enhanced his personality and love as a father and I loved that about the movie.
Thanks for this!

That guy is 99% me. I don't go so euphoric but otherwise... Omg... The amount of second hand embarrassment... Very realistic movie about being Bipolar, for me at least, we're all different. Absolutely best I've seen so far. Actually that movie made me to change my avatar.

Strongly recommend to see it! I'm gonna get my wife to watch it too as soon as we get Scandinavian edition with subtitles.

It was awesome! Some of it reminded me of my mom, as far as anything being possible if you just want it to be. LOL The part I related to was when he left the apt and went to the bar. That was me to a tee! I'm that person when I drink but then it ends in depression! He did an awesome job. He said that he really tried to use his personal family experience in the character and give it respect.

Thanks for the thread, Hashi! I'd put one up a few months ago when it was at the theaters, but couldn't really afford to go see it, then forgot about it. Your thread brought it back to mind, so I went right away over to the site to put in a hold for it at the library. (Not sure how many people are in line yet, but that's ok. It's the being in line that counts.) Looking forward to seeing it.

Lol, what a great way to put it! Will have to remember that phrasing.

I had seen info about this one, but i had no idea if it was any good. Movies featuring mental illness - Hollywood style- can be pretty bad. I am so tired of psych hospitals, ECT, bipolar, etc. being used for cheap effect in tv and movies. Glad to know that they got it right once.
Thanks for this!

Smart to rent movies from your library! I rent almost every movie and tv show I see from the public library. Saves so much money versus buying or using RedBox.

It was sweet. Didn't show too much of the bad parts of the disease, though.

I just put myself on my library list, I'm number 9. Thanks for the reminder about libraries.

It showed my bad parts and deeds: Yelling to your kids to scare them for good, scaring the whole family, leaving young kids alone to get some booze, ignoring about everything etc...

"Funniest" scene was when he was totally full of his old crappy Citroen and went to deal it to a pretty similar s**tbox to some weird car dealer. He drove away with her daughters and just by a glance, when they passed by the old car, you can see rear window covered with a piece of carton.

Just 6 months before i had punch my bare fist through my old car's window, got it salvaged and bought 1000$ piece of s**t for replacement
