I saw my new pdoc yesterday. He was okay. He was all over the place, very busy, kept texting and answering phone calls during our session, but when I had his full attention he was okay. He's the only person my current insurance covers within 75 miles that is currently accepting new patients so for now I'm stuck. He started me on Lithium and Zyprexa. I saw him at 9am, but because his office is so unorganized they kept making mistakes on the electronic prescription so finally after 8 tries I got the prescription. The Zyprexa was in, and there were issues with the Lithium. I was so over it I said I'd just wait until the next day to resolve the issue.
Well, it's 3:20 my time, and still nothing. Now I'm getting upset, because I feel like his office shouldn't be this incompetent. They just needed him to change the prescription from Lithium extended release to Lithium regular release. I've been waiting since 8am. At this point I'm just like forget it. I'll just take the Zyprexa alone and see what happens until I can get in to someone else. My husband is pissing me off now because he keeps telling me I need to calm down because I'm too impatient. They keep messing up and forgetting to follow up, and I'm supposed to sit back like an idiot and just say, "Golly jeepers, I'll just get my medicine when I get it, huh-yuck!" I'm so irritable today, so please excuse me. |

I don't blame you. You sound patient to me. Meds are something they should not mess up on. Easy for your husband to say, it's not his meds.

I'd be pissed off and irritated too. Don't mess with my meds!

I had to go off on the receptionist, because it was her fault. She kept forgetting to input my zip code which I guess is necessary for electronic prescriptions. I finally have everything situated, but I did tell my pdoc that from now on I would rather receive my prescriptions on paper and I can just take it in myself. I shouldn't have to fight this hard to get medication. It's absolutely ridiculous.
