So, last night was my first night of a starting dose of 20mg of Latuda. I take that dose again tonight and then it's up to 40mg tomorrow night. I actually slept good and didn't have to take any Xanax and only one Benadryl (down from 4!). I didn't feel drugged which is good. Here is the rub...AWFUL headache all day on the verge of a migraine. I've taken over the counter medicine and tried to take a nap. NOTHING! Is this a normal adjustment? I just have such high hopes for this med. Thanks

I enjoy Latuda. The first 4-5 weeks were challenging, mainly RLS at night. Taking it with a lot of calories after dinner was key.

Easy sailing now at 40mg a day. Good luck,

moogs

Calories? So, having a big dinner helped? I'm trying to lose weight too. Maybe I can save my calories for then or did I read it wrong? Thanks so much!

Latuda requires that you take it with a meal that is at least 350 calories. Otherwise, it isn't absorbed correctly.

I never had the headache issue. Hope it doesn't last. I second the first 4-5 weeks being challenging.

I had a headache for about a week after I started it. I now take 80mg no problems. You do need to eat with it.

Another question (I know...I'm full of them this past week!). Do any of you take SAM-e for joint pain. Since I've been off Cymbalta I've been in severe joint and bone pain. I want a natural remedybefore thinking of Nuerontin (sp?). Do you know if it affects any of the below meds I'm taking and have you taken it for pain and has it worked?

I don't really remember any side effects of Latuda, but there was an adjustment period for sure. Now I just make sure I eat enough before taking it so I don't get sick, but that's the only thing I have to worry about. And I've found that it doesn't have to be a meal, eating something like a yogurt is enough. I know they say take it with 350 calories, but as an anorexic, that's a complete no-go, and it works just like it's supposed to with me not doing that.
Thanks for this!

For me latuda worked great for the first week or so. Then I got akathasia really bad. The akathisia would cause me to have a panic attack the pdoc said. We tried congentin, and other meds to stop the akathisia but I would have to take a ton. So for me latuda didn't work. I've tried it 3 times and always the same outcome. But it works for a lot of ppl. Good luck!
Thanks for this!
