Does such a thing exist? I'm thinking about going back on meds but am trying to stay fit and lose weight and am worried about mood stabilizers messing with my metabolism and energy levels.

Lamictal and topomax don't cause weight gain. Topomax can actually cause weight loss.

I think Trileptal is weight neutral. I didn't have any problem with weight gain until Paxil was added after I was on Trileptal alone for a few years.

Yeah I'm on trileptal and haven't had weight gain from it. My weight gain is strictly from zyprexa....Ugh

I also didn't gain weight on depakote. But some ppl do...good luck!

Lithium, Depakote, and Abilify all made me gain significant weight. I just started Latuda yesterday and it's supposed to be weight neutral (fingers crossed). Topomax is supposed to actually make you lose weight. I know people who have been on it for migraines and lost quite a bit. I wish I could take it but it makes me sick. Good luck!

Lithium didn't make me gain weight, even up till 1800mg, but I got toxicity and was in the ICU for a week with my kidneys shutting down.... I'd be more concerned with getting on something that helps and doesn't hurt you but if you have a little weight gain it's really not that much from meds and there are ways to get rid of/counteract it

I've been on lamictal for going on five years now. No weight gain. No side effects really at all. Good luck!

Seroquel even though it's classified as an anti psychotic is used as mood stabilizer as well and doesnt have much weight gain but u may visit the fridge when it kicks in the middle of the night looking for food as it does make u hungry lol

Of the meds I have taken, only Seroquel made me can weight. Lamictal, Trileptal, Latuda, Saphris did not make me gain. Also, Neurontin did not make me gain, but it's for more anxiety.

Zyprexa made me gain, quite a bit. Tegretol, Prozac, Latuda, Geodon, Saphris and Wellbutrin were weight neutral. Abilify actually caused weight loss. I've been gaining again (). The culprit is either zoloft or risperdal.

Zyprexa made me eat literally nonstop and gain weight. Now ive been on lithium for over a year and i wouldn't say it has made me gain weight. Ive gained weight but i blame that on other things

I believe it was said earlier in this thread that Abilify can cause weight gain for some people.
