I went to take my meds a few minutes ago and as they were getting near my mouth I thought "that's a lot of green". I take 2 green klonopins and one other green pill that I thought I was out of (yes, I know....but it's not a psych med nor a big deal). So I looked more closely to see if I had the pill I thought I was out of and somehow when I filled my pill box I had put 2 doses of klonopin in tonight's box. I don't know if I missed another day (I haven't been sick which has happened the 2 times in 2 1/2 years that I've missed meds but I could have been sick those times from missing such a high dose of Seroquel instead; I've come off klonopin cold turkey in the hospital without issues once before. And if it was last night valium could have covered it). But regardless I very nearly just took a whopping dose of klonopin (4 mg, nothing dangerous but not exactly a little bit).

I hate when that kind of thing happens ; I try to be careful and even then med errors occur. So glad that green caught my eye.

Whew, I've done that with zyprexa and lorazepam. They look really similar. Have to be careful. Darn meds, lol.

I've nearly done stuff like that too. I've also almost accidently taken my son's meds. Then my favorite is when my pdoc suddenly writes for a different mg of a pill but my dosage didn't change. For example, I take 900mg of Trileptal. He had been writing for 300mg pills, so I would take 1 in the morning and 2 at night. The last time he wrote for 600mg pills without telling me, so it would be 1/2 and then 1. Sure did go to take it and was like "these look bigger" as I almost put it in my mouth. Would've double dosed myself! My pdoc is keeping me on my toes lol.

Yes my grandma is on like two million pills 3x a day
She's almost 80 and a little flaky lol but she still does well. Fills her pillbox on her own weekly. I have checked and she's always right
I don't KNOW how!

Oh I've almost done that with Lamictal and my Synthroid on occasions. I've literally not been able to remember and just have to skip it that day just in case. My memory has gotten so bad!

I worked with an elderly lady who took her pills by color. When she was switched to generics she didn't know what to do/take when. It was terrifying to discover this. Who knows what she'd been taking and how.

The worst things I ever did were mess up when the number of pills changed like Scatterbrained did and so I took quite a bit more Seroquel than I was supposed to. My dr warned me that it changed when I went to XR and I forgot for 2 nights. I had call in sick for 2 days to sleep it off.
The other was getting up in the morning when I was on painkillers after surgery and taking my night meds rather than my morning meds, so I had 2400 mg of Seroquel in 12 hours. I had to call my pdoc who was out so I had to convince some random person I hadn't tried to OD with one days' meds and then I was out for the day. I think I pretty much slept for 36 hours from that. It was really scary. But I do know I can process 2400 mg of Seroquel .

I once took 600 mg of Seroquel instead of 300 mg. I called my pharmacist, who assured me it wasn't a big deal (I knew that already) and that I didn't have to skip the next dose or anything (which I was wondering about).

Been there done that. I usually fill the pill box in front of the tv...so my attention is divided. Now I fill it in the bedroom.
