If you have tried it, what did it do for you?

Tried it along with a bunch of other natural products before I finally decided I needed to get real help. I didn't really notice a difference at the time, but it may be different and help in conjunction with medical intervention.

I don't understand how Gaba can't help when its a inhibitory neurotransmitter that is effected by taking anti-manic medicines. These drugs were originally anti-epileptic meds. Its the chemical that these medications increases. Reminds me of the SSRI's that increase seratonin. Tryptophan does that too naturally. I find it ironic to say the least Tryptophan was banned just when Prozac came out. Hmmm Not dismissing there were fatalitie with Tryptophan but that was because the amino was contaminated . It was not the Tryptophan itself. My source the US CDC.
Thanks for this!

These supplements help a little but they don't cross the "blood brain barrier" and that's why they don't seem to work like SSRI's etc.

If they crossed the "BBB" then taking 5-HTP would be like taking a dose of serotonin and your brain would just melt!

No its your brains protection system not to allow large molecules and poisons etc from damaging it. There are some supplements like Phenibut that do cross over but I would be careful of over sedating yourself by taking extra stuff.

You had me at Sedation! LOL Seriously, can you take that along with the below medications that I'm taking? Is this something I should talk to my pdoc about or is that just ridiculous?
